Journey Jots #26

Hello, guys! Hope you are well.

I had an amazing birthday last week. Thank you all so much for the birthday greetings!

Hubby spoiled me, as always. He baked me homemade doughnuts, waffles, and cooked me fresh pizza. He took me to REI and let me pick out a few new things because…truly…I never pay full price for anything. But, he convinced me that it’s okay to buy yourself a new pair of sneakers 🙂

As I begin my 37th year around the sun, I’m just so, so grateful. Grateful for this life I get to live with my husband and Tilly girl. And, grateful for my job and let’s be creative, be me, and stand up for the things that I’m most passionate about. So cheers, guys! Here’s to another year!

Life Lately

On my birthday, I slept in a tad and woke up to these beautiful daisies.

How pretty are they?! Such a happy yellow!

Then, I went and got my free birthday coffee from a local coffee joint!

My red velvet birthday cake turned out amazing!

We actually ran out of powdered sugar to make enough frosting so we used cream cheese to make it creamy and…let me tell you…that put the flavor over the top. Hubby spent so much time frosting the cake and it looked SO pretty!

And…he even did 4 layers!

Even though it was a tad chilly, we walked Tilly at the lake.

To round out the day, we went out to dinner at a super neat restaurant and they gave me a free dessert! Isn’t that so nice?!

We ordered lemon cheesecake with blueberry compote to share…it was super delicious.

And, I would be remiss if I didn’t share what Miss Molly has been up to.

She LOVES to eat and avocado is super fun because it’s so messy!

On the Blog-Journey Jots #26

Last week, on Tuesday, I shared an updated post on how to paint furniture from Target. Many of us probably have a basic piece of Target furniture and I show you how to easily update it with paint!

On Thursday, I shared a brand new post on how to set a Spring table setting with mix and match vintage dishes.

And, the best part is, since I used decor that I had on hand, I didn’t spend a dime!

From delicate floral patterns to bold and colorful designs, vintage dishes, paired with soft vintage linens, add a touch of nostalgia and elegance to any gathering.

  • […] This pair of plates was no exception…I truly don’t think I’ve ever seen this pattern on any piece of milk glass before. They are super heavy and were only .99 each! I think they are absolutely stunning. Don’t they look so pretty underneath my vase of birthday flowers?! […]
