Life Lately

We had SUCH an amazing four day weekend over the 4th!

My aunt was in town from Oregon so we had a fun BBQ and gathering at my sister’s house. Even though it was raining, we still made the best of it! We even watched the fireworks from our patio since we can see them from above the tree line. How neat is that?!

Last Saturday, we left for an out of town wedding for some very dear friends. The ceremony took place on the shore of the lake where they met and it was just stunning.

The beach below is a special place. I grew up coming here, every 4th of July weekend, with three other families that lived in my neighborhood growing up. Now that all the ‘kids’ have grown up and have families of our own, it just makes me realize how lucky we are to still be close friends all these years later.

Not only was the wedding very meaningful, it solidified how special life-long friends are.

The reception took place in the groom’s mom’s yard next door to where the ceremony took place. It was under this giant tent! There was a very heavy thunderstorm that blew through right after dinner so that halted things for about a half hour but the evening progressed as normal afterwards.

We all ate well and danced our little hearts out. It will definitely be a wedding to remember!
