Journey Jots #52

Hello guys and happy Sunday!

Well, what a week it’s been. Last time we chatted was over a week ago already! If you read the last jots, you will probably remember that our uncle’s home was to be straight in the path of hurricane Milton. By some miracle, the eye of the storm shifted and their house, and surrounding area, was not hit nearly as hard as it would have been.

We are all SO thankful for that but also still feel so sad for so many others who lost their homes and businesses. Let’s continue to keep Florida in our hearts in the weeks and months ahead.

Before we dive in, what’s something good that’s happened in your life lately? I’d love to know in the comments!

Life Lately

We spent a 4 day weekend last week on the shores of Lake Superior with my family. The fall leaves were just stunning and the weather was beautiful!

Miss Molly had such fun looking at all the sights and playing on the rocky shore. She’s walking SO fast and babbling away!

Hubby and I fished for a few hours on Saturday morning. We had to hike, in the water, to get to the mouth of a river that flows into Lake Superior. Look at this! It looks like we are fishing in the ocean!

We are so thankful to have the largest fresh water lake in the world here in our state. What a gift!

We also went on a short hike in the pouring rain. We haven’t seen a lick of rain here for over two months so it was such a relief to see water falling from the sky!

And, the icing on the cake for the entire weekend was seeing the aurora borealis!!

You guys. This is something that’s been on my bucket list for SO LONG!

To the naked eye, the lights just looked white because it was a tad cloudy. But, through the lens of our iPhones, the sky LIT UP!!! It was incredible.

It still gives me goosebumps looking at these pictures. Can you imagine what it would have been like had it not been cloudy?! Just…so cool. I feel so grateful to have been able to see them in any form.
