Journey Jots #1
Hello, guys! Happy Sunday!
It was another busy week preparing our living spaces for Winter. Isn’t that crazy?! Most of the trees in our yard have lost all their leaves and it’s a chore just to keep our patio space free of leaves!
I pruned back my potted Fern plants in hopes that they will come back in the Spring. Have you ever had any luck with that? Let me know…I would love to not have purchase new Fern plants each season!
Next weekend I plan to hang the Christmas lights and garland up outside. It may seem early but I like to do it before it gets super cold and there’s snow flying around. Plus, it starts to get me in the holiday spirit, you know?!
Life Lately
You may or may not know that, a few weekends ago, we spent 5 glorious days on the shores of Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota with my family.
The Fall colors were simply magical. We did a little hiking, a little shopping, and a whole lot of fishing!
My mom snapped this photo of us having our morning coffee on the deck. There’s just something so majestic about waking up to this view and listening to the waves crash into the rocks.
This is the largest lake in the world and it’s such a treasure to have part of it in our state. It’s awe-inspiring each time…I could sit there and stare and it for hours!
We also fit in one long last bike ride before it get’s too cold to ride outside. All Summer, we chose one weekend day to ride 32 miles to our favorite coffee shop. It’s such a pretty bike ride through the woods. The halfway point is the coffee shop where we stop for coffee and a treat, then turn around and bike back home! Isn’t this the prettiest coffee?!
As we round out the month of October, we celebrate not only Halloween but our sweet girl’s 5th birthday on Tuesday!!
Tilly is the most special doggy. She’s so funny, adoring, and takes care of us just as much as we take care of her. Her favorite things are food, treats, going for walks, and playing with her long, dangly toys (she only likes the toys that have 4 long arms and legs to whip around). I don’t know how we got so lucky with her but we did and I’m so, so grateful. Happy, happy Birthday, my sweet baby!!

Hi! Thank you!! You are welcome! Have a fabulous week!
Such a fun new series, Rachel. I can’t wait to follow along and see what you guys are up to. I love the photos of Tilly and from your trip. The leaves are stunning and the latte is almost too pretty to drink. Off to check out your links, I definitely need some fairy lights. Big hugs, CoCo PS: There is a squid I put on Pipers Favorite Things list that Tilly might like. It’s got a squeaker I believe (or used to) and the tentacles are floppy with crunchy paper in them so Piper shakes it all around the house. They sell it at Target and she’s had it about a year now and still plays with it which makes it a win in my book 🙂
Thanks so much, CoCo!! Thanks for the tip…I’m always looking for those long, dangly toys for her!! I appreciate you coming by today…your support means SO much.
Have a lovely rest of the week!
