I’m sharing all about eco-friendly cleaning with Tru Earth!
This is a super special post. I’ve told you guys before about my deep love for the ocean and all it’s creatures. I feel that I’ve been given the amazing opportunity in this life to speak up for the environment. It’s my duty to protect all of creation…the rivers, forests, lakes, oceans, and all of the animals that dwell in them. Tru Earth has given me the chance to showcase their environmentally friendly products that are making a positive impact on this planet that we call home. Allow me to introduce you to a new way of living through eco-friendly cleaning with Tru Earth!
This post is sponsored by Tru Earth. All ideas and opinions are my own. You can see my privacy policy here.
Here on the blog, I only share products that I believe in and serve a specific purpose for this season of life. I’m continually looking for ways to live in a more sustainable way, helping to improve my family’s carbon footprint any way we can.
Tru Earth is a company that truly is paving the way for a plastic free future and I’m so honored to partner with them. We have the opportunity to be kind stewards of this Earth. I hope you find the encouragement here today to seek out what that means for you. Stay tuned to the end for a special discount code as well!
All About Tru Earth
Tru Earth is a company based out of Canada. It was founded on the belief that there is just way too much plastic usage in this world. Tru Earth values that small actions can lead to big changes. The three guys that started this company believe in the power to choose sustainability without compromising convenience. They aim to provide eco-friendly products that work!
Tru Earth is doing brilliant work of taking plastic out of production and only uses bio-degradable and recyclable packaging. It says on their website that “If everyone switched to Eco-Strips we could eliminate 1 billion plastic jugs, and save truck fuel and CO2 equivalent to taking 27 million cars off the road a day… or planting 9 million new trees.” Like…what?! Isn’t that mind blowing?! This is such important work and Tru Earth is leading the charge. I could not be more proud to work with them and help be the change.
3 Tru Earth Product Reviews
I’ve been using these three Tru Earth products for about one month now. Not only are the eco-strips so easy to use, they actually work! Each of these strips comes in a flat cardboard container, making them extremely user friendly and ideal for small spaces where there isn’t much storage.
Not only that, but each eco-strip is pre-measured, already having the needed amount of cleaner so there is no need for measuring. Let me share with you how to use three of Tru Earth’s most popular products and how they have helped me and my home!
Tru Earth Eco-Strips Laundry Detergent
This is what the package of laundry eco-strips looks like. A slim, sleek package with all of the information that you need. I ordered the ‘Fresh Linen’ scent and am so happy with how it smells. It’s super light and airy and doesn’t leave behind a heavy perfume scent. Tru Earth does carry other scents too if you so choose such as lilac.
Anyways, these eco-strips leave my clothes soft, clean, and refreshed. I’ve also noticed a big difference in how my towels and bedding come out after being washed with these eco-strips. They don’t feel as harsh to the touch as they had been, which is super lovely.
I wanted to try and experiment with these strips to show you how well they work.
First, open the package to remove a square strip. You can use a full strip for a large load of laundry, like bedding for example. You can also tear the square in half for a smaller load.
I wanted to see how well these strips could clean up my sneakers that I’ve been wearing around all summer. They get so dirty and stinky from months of wearing them.
So, I took out the insoles and placed them in my laundry bag, then put that bag and the sneakers directly in the washer along with the eco-strip.
After it finished, I took my shoes out and couldn’t believe how CLEAN they looked. They also smelled amazing. The eco-strips got the stink out without having to use any harsh chemicals on them!
I’ve been using the same laundry detergent for years, which I have loved, but after using these Tru Earth laundry eco-strips for over a month now, I am hesitating going back to what I was using.
The eco-strips give my laundry an overall cleaner and fresher feeling. And, knowing that I’m doing my part to help the environment WHILE doing a household chore is incredible.
Tru Earth Eco-Strips Toilet Bowl Cleaner
The next product I wanted to share is the toilet bowl eco strips. Here is what the toilet strips look like! As you can see below, it’s a long strip but there are four separate squares within.
You guys, lets be real….toilet’s are just gross. This is my least favorite household chore to complete but someone’s gotta do it! However, the toilet bowl eco-strip makes the task of cleaning toilets a little more enjoyable. It’s SO EASY! All you do is tear off a square from the longer strip, toss it in the toilet, and let it dissolve.
Once it’s dissolved, use whatever toilet brush that you usually use and just scrub it around a few times. And voila! You have a squeaky clean toilet that is probably fresher than it’s ever been. (I will spare you a toilet picture here but just take my word for it.)
Tru Earth Eco-Strips Multi-Surface Cleaner
The last product I’m sharing today are the multi-purpose cleaning strips. These strips come in a lemon scent, giving your home such a fresh and clean feeling. I’ve used this cleaner to scrub my bathrooms, the kitchen sink, and my outdoor furniture. I’ve even used it on my carpet to clean areas where my dog left spots!
The Tru Earth multi-purpose strips are also a game-changer when it comes to reducing plastic in your home. Let me show you how they work!
Below is what one strip looks like. These strips do not have any perforations in them.
You will need a reusable spray bottle for this. I picked this glass one up from Target and it works beautifully. All you do is roll up the eco strip so it’s like a tube. Place the strip inside the spray bottle.
Fill up the bottle with warm water and screw the cap on.
Shake the bottle until the strip is dissolved!
Now you are ready to clean!
Okay, I’ll admit I’m a bit embarrassed to show you the before state of my fruit drawer in the refrigerator. But, I really wanted to show you guys how well this cleaner works. We eat a lot of fresh fruit during the summer, so the mess that is in here at the end of the season is pretty gross.
See? Told you. I just used a couple of spritzes of the Tru Earth multi-purpose cleaner and wiped it down with a damp rag.
Look!! That’s just from one pass. I’m truly amazed at how amazing this cleaner gets rid of grime and old fruit residue so quickly! The fact that it works that well AND doesn’t use any plastic to get the job done is nothing short of incredible.
Other Tru Earth Products
Tru Earth carries many other sustainable and eco-friendly products, such as tote bags and reusable straws, on their website. I would love to try out the bamboo cotton swabs, the compostable sponges, and the mesh produce bags.

Such a cool post, Rachel! I’ve never heard of this company before so I’m excited to try them out. We don’t have city water (everyone on the island has their own well) which makes us very conscious about the types of products we use. Thanks so much for the code and for your helpful befores and afters too. They were fabulous! Hugs, CoCo
