Life Lately

I returned from Florida this past Thursday. What a fun trip we had!

We awoke early most mornings so that we could get to the beach early for sunrise. Walking the shore line, collecting shells, and just taking in the sea breeze truly washes all my worries away. It felt SO good.

We had the coolest encounters with amazing sea life including sharks, lots of pretty fish, dolphins, and even this cute parrot!

The saltwater fly fishing was AMAZING. Fort de Soto is a park near our uncle’s home and is our very favorite spot to hunt for saltwater fish including tarpon, snook, and redfish.

Though I didn’t have much luck, I had a pretty decent sized tarpon on my line for a few seconds before it came off….so THAT was fun!

While in Florida, I had the opportunity to meet Donna and her husband Rich, from An Organized Season, for lunch! We had a great chat talking all things blogging. It was SO fun to meet one of my blogging friends in person after talking online for so many years.

Because it’s just me running this blog day in and day out, sometimes it can feel pretty isolating. So, it was important to me to connect with a peer and colleague!

Though it’s always fun to get away, I miss my Tilly girl SO much. It’s hard on me to be away from my most special doggy. She had fun playing with other dogs, though, and our sitter always takes amazing care of her!

Weekly Shopping Finds- Favorite Recent Purchases

  • I’ve used this all natural makeup brush cleaner for years. I just had to buy another bottle…it lasts such a long time!
  • I was feeling like I needed a change of my bed sheets instead of plain white. I purchased this set of blue ticking stripe sheets…they are SO lovely and super soft.
  • These shorts are AMAZING. I now have them in 2 colors and wear them ALL the time. They are comfy and go with everything!
  • Recently, I switched my shampoo and conditioner. Still wanting a natural product but something that wouldn’t make my hair feel so heavy, I settled on California Naturals. LOVE IT. Highly recommend.
  • These wooden kitchen scoops are amazingly handy. I use them in everything from flour and sugar jars to rice and dried fruit!
