Journey Jots #53

Hello guys and happy Sunday!

It’s been just gorgeous here. The leaves are about 85% off of the trees so, needless to say, we’ve got quite the pile of leaves in the yard!

How was your week? Have you found anything neat thrifting lately? Do you have any good news to share? I love to know what’s going on in your world so let me know in the comments.

Life Lately

It was a quiet week here! For once, we weren’t traveling to or from somewhere and, though I do love getting out of town and going on neat adventures, it felt so good to have a weekend at home.

I am a homebody at heart so I spent time cleaning, re-arranging, and the like. Do you love to just be home at putz around the house??

Tilly LOVES this weather…these cooler temperatures are where she thrives! We’ve been taking long weeks in the late afternoons, just at that golden hour before the sun sets, and it’s just stunning.

And! You guys! It’s Tilly’s birthday this week…she turns 6 on October 31st!! I don’t know where the past six years have gone with my most adoring doggy.

We started taking her birthday photo with a bunch of pumpkins a few years ago and they just make my heart SO happy. I mean…come on!!

If I’m not careful, I’m going to start crying as I type this but I’ll give it a try.

I didn’t have a dog growing up and had no idea the pure love and joy that a dog could bring…that is until we picked up Tilly on a bitterly cold winter day in January of 2019.

When we met the breeder in a convenient store parking lot, she went to the trunk and pulled out the cutest puppy I’d ever seen in my life. Tilly looked both hubby and I straight in the eyes as soon as we held her, as if to ask ‘ are you my mama and dad?’ It was an instant connection and true love at first sight.

The year 2019 was, without a doubt, the hardest year of my life for so many reasons. Looking back, I just know that we were supposed to get Tilly then, as she literally was my angel and helped me navigate the worst anxiety of my life.

Tilly is the most cuddly, hilarious, loving, and sweetest dog I’ve ever known. I could go on and on about my sweet angel dog…she knows exactly how I am feeling at any given time. She will always come give me kisses if I’m feeling sad and will go grab a toy from her toy pile when she knows it’s playtime.

Tilly has changed my life in more ways than one and I will forever be grateful for that.

My Tilly girl, you are my truest joy. You will never know how much I love you. Happy 6th Birthday, sweet baby.

Yes…we have a windy day today so most of the trees will be bare by the end of the week! Thank you and you are welcome!
