Journey Jots #34

Hello, guys! Happy Sunday! Hope you are well.

I can’t believe another week has come and gone! It’s really feeling like Summer here in the Midwest with temps in the 80’s and high humidity.

How was your week? Did you do anything fun? Let  me know in the comments!

Life Lately

We did a thing last weekend.

As you may know, we have a very long hallway that connects the living area with the bedrooms and bathrooms. Due to that, it’s actually a very important part of our home. When we moved in here almost 8 years ago, we painted everything white just to get us a clean slate. But, we were tired of all the white.

So, we painted it! Can you guess what color?!

On the left is what it looked like before and the right is one coat of the new color.

We went dark and moody and I’m TOTALLY digging it!

The finished, newly painted hallway is better than I could have imagined. I love it SO much more than I thought I would.

So, now I’m on the hunt for a vintage mirror to go right above this light switch. I’m thinking a gold or brass framed mirror would look REALLY pretty paired with this color. What do you think?! Let me know your ideas in the comments!

Next, my paddle board took its first voyage out on the lake for the season! It was SUCH a gorgeous evening on the water. There was even a mating pair of loons that came right up by us. So cool!

We’ve been enjoying slow Summer days as a family lately. We took Tilly on a long nature walk over the weekend to a park that is staged like it’s from the 1800’s. There are beautiful period homes on display along with all kinds of farm animals.

There were little piggies and Tilly was VERY interested in them!

We also payed a visit to the sheep pen. They stick their little faces through the fence, asking for dandelion leaves, which is like a treat to them. As I was feeding them, Tilly wasn’t happy with me and started barking!

Isn’t that little sheep so cute?!

I’ll leave you with a cute picture of Molly. She had her one year doctor appointment last week and is a very healthy girl!
