Journey Jots #55
Hello guys and happy Sunday!
How was your week? Have you started decorating for Christmas yet? Do you have any good news to share? I love to know what’s going on in your world so let me know in the comments.
Life Lately
Oh goodness, you guys. What a week. This election season has been one of the most stressful times I can remember. As a collective nation, there is so much on the line.
I do not want to get into politics on my blog but please remember that half of the people that you encounter in day to day life are very upset and sad and the other half are very happy. But, you can choose to be KIND no matter what. So, please be kind and extend grace towards others.
It was a rainy week here, which was amazing because we need the moisture on the ground going into winter! It was actually very peaceful and relaxing to watch the rain cascade over all of the leaves on the ground.
I managed to, in between rain showers, put up the Christmas lights and hung the outside garland on the patio! I like to get that done before it gets too cold.
Tilly got a new coat for her birthday and completely loves it! Isn’t it so cute?! She never used to like walking in the rain before but, now that this coat is waterproof, she doesn’t mind!
And, finally, if you are sensitive to other people’s energy and stressful events like I am, I encourage you to get outside in nature. Breathing in the fresh air and listening to the sounds of birds really does wonders for your mind, body, and soul.
Weekly Shopping Finds- Christmas Gift Ideas That I’m Loving
- Swedish dishcloths are a completely amazing gift. I LOVE mine and use them all the time. They are sustainable and eco-friendly, too! More patterns here and here.
- Who doesn’t love seasonal scented soaps?! Here are some of my favorites: Pine dish soap, almond bar soap, and birchwood hand soap.
- Kitchen items are always a lovely gift idea. These wooden handled scrubbers are perfect as is this longer version.
- Blankets are another wonderful, cozy home item to gift. Try this ribbed throw, chunky Christmas plaid, or this knitted blanket.
- For the one who loves to cook, try this one on fast, healthy recipes or super simple comfort food.
- Cozy pajamas are also a beloved gift item. Try these waffle knit lounge pants, or these wide leg pajama pants.
