Let’s look back on a year of inspiration!
As this year draws to a close, I am feeling so thankful. I’m deeply grateful for this blog, this place of inspiration, that has changed my life in every way. This community that we are all a part of is uplifting and positive. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being here every week, for reading my posts, and leaving thoughtful comments.
It is because of each of you that I can continue to create meaningful content.
This week, I wanted to look back on a year of inspiration and share 5 of the most popular posts from The Antiqued Journey. I hope they give you the encouragement that you need to start the new year off with gusto!
A Year Of Inspiration
- Repurposing Vintage Embroidered Pillowcases
This DIY vintage pillowcase project continues to be one of my top traffic pages on a weekly basis! Vintage linens will always hold a special place in my heart and in my home. I found these vintage king size pillowcases at an estate sale and paid .50 cents for the pair!
They had small holes and stains on them, but I fell in love with the scalloped, lace detail on the edges and knew I could do something special with them. After thinking about it for awhile, I decided to turn the pillowcases into throw pillow covers without sewing! For the full tutorial, you can go to Repurposing Vintage Embroidered Pillowcases on the blog. They turned out beautiful and am so happy that this post continues to inspire!
- DIY Soy Wax Candles
Another popular post has been these DIY candles! Candles, especially in the winter time, are so comforting. They make your home feel extra cozy on those cold evenings. This project is simple, inexpensive, and creative. These candles also make excellent homemade gifts.
This is still one of my favorite projects to date. Pouring your own candles is so rewarding and makes your home feel extra special. You can read the full tutorial on creating your own DIY Soy Wax Candles. Be inspired to make your own! - How To Make A Faux Topiary
Yet another DIY project, this faux topiary is still as beautiful today as the day I created it. This tutorial on how to make a faux topiary is super simple and will add a beautiful, earthy texture to any room in your home! The natural elements of the soil and tree branches helps to ground your space and bring in a calm feeling.
- A Vintage Holiday Tablescape
It makes my heart so happy that this post generates so much interest! My heritage is German so naturally these stunning Christmas dishes spoke to me when I spotted them in an antique store years ago. My collection has grown quite a bit over the years. They bring me such joy and I love taking them out each year.
These dishes create for a beautiful table setting for your holiday celebrations. The vintage red and green colors add such a cozy nostalgia to your home. A vintage holiday tablescape using Waechtersbach Christmas dishes is stunning with so many different layers and textures. They will add a festive ambience to your special celebrations and will bring cheer year after year.
- My Top 10 Minnesota Antique Stores
This post was so much fun to write! Minnesota has amazing antique stores in some really neat places and I wanted that excitement to come across in this post. I have visited each of these stores at least once and can speak to the high quality selection, prices, and atmosphere of them. There are so many beautiful places to explore wherever you live. May my top 10 Minnesota antique stores encourage you to have an adventure!
As we end a new year and begin a brand new one, I hope you can find inspiration and beauty not only for your home but for your soul as well. I urge you to get creative and try something new, whether that be in your home, a hobby, or otherwise. Take time to pause and see all the new things awaiting you. Big things are brewing here at The Antiqued Journey in the new year ahead and I’m so happy to have you along. Cheers and Happy New Year!
